What
is Greenstone or Pounamu?
|
The term Greenstone or Pounamu refers several types of hard, durable
and highly valued nephrite jade (kawakawa, kahurangi, īnanga) and
bowenite (tangiwai) found in the south island of New Zealand
(Aotearoa).
In Maori culture Pounamu is considered a taonga or treasure and it was
carved into tools weapons or ornaments, Particularly toki (adzes) ,
mere (clubs) or tiki.
Greenstone jewellery is popular among Kiwis (New Zealanders) and it is
traditional to buy a pounamu (greenstone) as a gift for others.

Shipping
and Delivery?
|
For all orders up to a value of NZ$500 we
charge NZ$5.00 for shipping. Orders in excess of NZ$500 will be
delivered free of a delivery charge from GreenstoneGecko.
Domestic Deliveries
For deliveries within New Zealand we send
all carvings via Parcel Post. This means packages are insured up to a
value of NZ$250. If you require insurance in excess of this please
contact us directly to organise your order.
Deliveries with in New Zealand generally take 2-3 days from dispatch.
International
Deliveries
GreenstoneGecko send all international deliveries via
International Air (approximate delivery times shown below).
Please note that no allowance has been made in the delivery
schedules below for delays out of our control such as by orders being
held up in customs.
To minimise this risk we do not send out
parcels weighing more than 2kg each. If your consignment is split into
multiple parcels, your delivery costs will not be affected or increased.

Taxes
and Customs duties?

Although rare, import duties and/or taxes may be charged
by your local customs service or Authorities on shipments from outside
your country (not just on deliveries from GreenstoneGecko).
These costs
are separate from GreenstoneGeckos charges and are beyond our control
or
ability to predict.We will therefore not under any
circumstances cover or reimburse for any such fees charged by your
local
customs, courier or postal services.

Greenstone Gecko collects contact
information (such as email address, phone and delivery address) and
financial
information (such as account or credit card information) to allow
customers to customers
to request information, products, and services.
Contact information is used to ship
purchases and to get in touch with customers when necessary.

bill the user for products and services and then deleted from our
secure database.
No financial information is stored on the web site.
